Description

This exceptional 5 Rupees banknote packet represents a significant piece of modern Indian currency history, issued under the governorship of D. Subbarao at the Reserve Bank of India. The collection features 100 sequential notes with an exceptionally rare middle fancy number—786—a numerically significant designation highly prized by currency enthusiasts and numismatic collectors worldwide. While the denomination listed shows 10 Rupees, this packet contains the scarcer 5 Rupees denomination, amplifying its collectible value. The fancy number 786 holds special appeal across cultures, making these notes particularly sought after. Housed in an organized serial packet format, this lot preserves the pristine condition of all notes, essential for serious collectors. D. Subbarao's tenure (2009-2013) saw important monetary policy shifts, adding historical relevance. Collectors prize fancy-numbered currency bundles for their rarity, investment potential, and the challenge of completing comprehensive collections. Perfect for numismatists seeking authentic Indian currency with documented provenance and notable serial characteristics.
