Buying in lots
A lot is a group of items sold together as one listing. Lots suit two kinds of buyer: collectors who want volume in a particular area without sourcing each piece individually, and newer collectors who want a varied starting point to sort through and learn from.
Before you buy a lot
- Read the description carefully — lots vary widely in what is guaranteed about their contents.
- Check the photographs — for lots, the images are the specification.
- Understand the condition mix — lots usually contain a range of grades rather than a uniform standard.
- Check the count — whether the listing specifies an exact number of pieces.
Lots are sold as described by the seller, so the listing text and images are the reference for what arrives.
