Why collectors buy bundles
A bundle keeps a run of notes together in their original sequence, which is how they left the press. For collectors that matters for three reasons: the notes share the same signature, series and inset, the serial numbers run consecutively, and an unbroken bundle is far harder to assemble after the fact than to keep intact in the first place.
Points to check
- Sequence — whether the serial numbers run unbroken through the bundle.
- Condition throughout — the outer notes take the most handling, so ask what the interior looks like.
- Original banding — some collectors prefer bundles that have never been opened.
- Fancy numbers within — a bundle can contain notable serials as well as a clean run.
Bundles also suit collectors who want to hold a complete, self-contained piece of a series rather than build one note at a time.
