This exceptional copper Gani represents a rare numismatic artifact from the Bahamani Sultanate, minted during the brief reign of Nizam al-din Ahmad Shah III (AH 866-867 / AD 1461-1463). The obverse displays the Islamic invocation "al-mustansir bi-nasr allah al-qawi al-ghani" (He who seeks aid from the support of God, the strong, the rich), reflecting the spiritual authority of the sultanate. The reverse features the ruler's name and lineage: "ahmad shah bin humayu nshah al-bahamani." Weighing 16.41 grams with a diameter of 20.81mm, this copper coin showcases the craftsmanship of medieval Islamic coinage. The Bahamani Sultanate, one of India's most significant Deccan sultanates, minted coins that are highly sought after by serious collectors.
