Description
A Rare Republic India 2 Rupees of 2007 from the "Unity in Diversity" hand gesture series, set aside by the mint error lot because its two faces do not line up. With the Lion Capital face held upright, the denomination face is turned about a quarter turn clockwise, leaving the hand at the top right and the large "2" with "रुपये RUPEES" lying on its side.
- Main fault: rotated die, roughly 75 to 90 degrees out of alignment between the two faces.
- Secondary fault: thin raised die cracks crossing the Lion Capital face below "INDIA" and above the date.
- Denomination: 2 Rupees, Republic India.
- Year: 2007, clearly legible below the Lion Capital.
- Mint: not stated, as the area below the date is too worn to read a mark.
- Metal: ferritic stainless steel; diameter about 27.9 mm.
- Condition: Fine, with even circulation wear, hairlines and honest handling marks.
- Mint: Calcutta Mint

Discover a fascinating anomaly from modern Indian numismatics with this 2 Rupees coin, issued by the Republic of India in 2007. Struck in durable ferritic stainless steel measuring approximately 27.9 mm, this piece belongs to the beloved "Unity in Diversity" hand gesture series. While millions of these coins entered everyday commerce, quality control mishaps occasionally allowed striking errors to escape the mint floor. Graded in Fine condition, it displays authentic circulation wear alongside a captivating secondary feature of thin raised die cracks crossing the obverse face. As a tangible piece of minting history, error coinage offers a unique glimpse into the mechanical imperfections of high-volume state production. Advanced numismatists actively seek out die alignment anomalies because they break the monotony of standard date runs, adding narrative depth and mechanical curiosity to an exhibit. Secured directly from the Calcutta Minting apparatus, this specific piece includes no extra packaging or third-party certification, and the exact coin photographed is the one shipped to your door.🔒 Secure Checkout✅ 100% Genuine📦 Free Packaging
