This exceptional 3 Dokda copper coin from Kutch, an Indian princely state, was minted in 1868 (1925 Vikram Samvat) during the reign of Pragmalji II. Representing one-eighth of an Indian Rupee, this circulation coin is a tangible piece of India's pre-independence numismatic heritage. Cast in copper with a substantial weight of 19.5 grams and measuring 32.9mm in diameter, the coin exhibits traditional round construction with medal alignment strike. What makes this coin particularly desirable for collectors is its historical significance as a relic from the Kutch kingdom, which maintained its own monetary system until Indian independence in 1948. The coin's demonetized status adds to its collectible appeal, as it's no longer in circulation and represents a discontinued currency era. Pragmalji II's reign marked an important period in Kutch's history, and coins from this era are increasingly sought after by numismatists and history enthusiasts alike. For serious collectors, this coin represents both historical importance and investment potential. Its rarity, regional significance, and the documented specifications make it an attractive addition to any Indian princely state collection or numismatic portfolio.
