A silver 1/4 Rupee of 1887 struck under Queen Victoria Empress for British India, in circulated Fine condition. Struck at the Calcutta Mint.
Description
Rare silver Quarter Rupee of British India dated 1887, issued during the reign of Queen Victoria as Empress of India. The obverse carries the crowned and draped bust of the Queen with the legend VICTORIA EMPRESS, while the reverse shows the value 1/4 RUPEE INDIA with the date within a floral wreath.

- Metal: Silver, with the typical grey cabinet tone of a circulated piece
- Diameter: approximately 19 mm, reeded edge
