The Uganda 1000 Shillings 2002 Goalkeeper Coin is a striking non-circulating commemorative piece issued by the Bank of Uganda as part of the acclaimed "World of Football" series. Struck in .999 fine silver, this hefty 24.83g coin spans 38mm in diameter and 3.2mm in thickness, offering a substantial, museum-quality feel prized by serious collectors. The obverse showcases Uganda's national Coat of Arms alongside the patriotic motto "For God and My Country," while the reverse captures a dynamic goalkeeper mid-save, framed by a stadium backdrop and a distinctive red-highlighted footballer inset—a vivid tribute to football's global passion during the early 2000s football boom. Minted using both inlaid and milled techniques with medal alignment, this coin reflects meticulous craftsmanship rarely seen in modern commemorative issues. Its limited mintage as a non-circulating collector's coin, combined with high silver purity, makes it an exceptional find for numismatists, football enthusiasts, and silver bullion collectors alike. Whether you're building a themed sports coin collection or seeking a unique silver investment piece with historical and cultural significance, this Ugandan treasure delivers rarity, artistry, and value in one remarkable package.
