The Uganda 1000 Shillings 2002 Goalkeeper Coin is a striking non-circulating commemorative issue struck by the Bank of Uganda in .999 fine silver. Weighing 24.83 grams with a diameter of 38 mm, this round coin showcases a vivid goalkeeper motif, reflecting Uganda's tribute to the global passion for football during the early 2000s sports commemorative coin era. Struck using both inlaid and milled techniques in medal alignment, the coin displays exceptional detail and craftsmanship, making it a visually captivating piece for any collection. As part of Uganda's Republic-era numismatic output (1962-date), this coin represents a unique intersection of sports history and modern minting artistry. Its rarity stems from limited mintage as a collector-focused non-circulating legal tender, making it highly sought after by silver coin enthusiasts and thematic sports coin collectors alike. This coin holds strong collectible value due to its high silver purity, unique goalkeeper theme, and scarcity in the numismatic market. Whether you're a seasoned collector or new to coin collecting, this piece offers both aesthetic appeal and potential investment value, making it a wonderful addition to any silver coin or football-themed collection.
